Jager BRIEF NARRATIVE: On June 9, 2018 at about 1313 hours, South Burlington and Burlington emergency services received numerous calls about two motor vehicle crashes in the vicinity of Shelburne Road and Farrell Street. One of the vehicles was overturned in the parking lot of Shaw’s on Shelburne Road. Upon arrival, we determined the first accident occurred on Shelburne Road and Home Avenue. Vehicle #1 was eastbound on Home Avenue and entered into the Shelburne Road intersection and impacted a vehicle southbound on Shelburne Road. After this impact occurred, vehicle #1 continued on Farrell Street eastbound and after about 200 yards jumped a curb, struck a tree/crosswalk pole and came to rest on its roof in the Shaw’s parking lot. During the rollover one of the occupants was ejected and was pronounced dead at the scene. This accident is still under investigation and names of the involved parties is being withheld pending additional information. Anyone who may have witnessed either of these accidents is asked to contact the South Burlington Police Department at 802-846-4111. ***UPDATE*** 6/11/18 @ 3:20pm The operator of the vehicle that rolled over (identified as vehicle #1 above) is identified as – Sadio M. Ali, 29 years old of Burlington, Vermont. The deceased is identified as – Lul Ali Gure, 29 years old of Burlington, Vermont. The operator of the vehicle that was involved in the initial accident at the intersection of Home Avenue and Shelburne Road is identified as Allison M. Conroe, 20 years old of Burlington, Vermont. The investigation into this crash is ongoing. Further information will be released as available/appropriate.
