INCIDENT TYPE: Driving Under the Influence #2, Driving while License is under Criminal Suspension, and Violation of Conditions of Release x 4
BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On June 02, 2018 at approximately 2222 hours South Burlington Police received an anonymous tip regarding a criminally suspended male, identified as Dale M. McGuire (56YOA), who was currently driving a vehicle while intoxicated. The vehicle operated by Mr. McGuire was located in the Price Chopper parking lot at 41 Hinesburg Road in South Burlington, Vermont.
A field contact was initiated and an approach without blue lights was utilized. Mr. McGuire was located in the operator’s seat of the vehicle and was observed to be attempting to place the vehicle keys into the ignition. Officers on scene believed Mr. McGuire was under the influence of intoxicants as he was observed to have bloodshot watery eyes and a strong odor of intoxicants emanating from his person. Mr. McGuire refused to
execute Field Sobriety Tests and refused to take a roadside Preliminary Breath Test. Mr. McGuire was taken
into custody for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence, Driving with a Criminally Suspended License and
Violating 4 separate Court Conditions of Release.
Mr. McGuire was processed at the South Burlington Police Department and then lodged at the Chittenden
Correction Facility with court orders to appear for arraignment on Monday morning at 0800 hours. Mr.
McGuire’s bail was set at $1500.
