BRIEF NARRATIVE: On 4/8/18 at approximately 5:00pm an off-duty South Burlington Police Officer observed a vehicle traveling approximately 85mph on Hinesburg Road, well in excess of the posted speed limit. The vehicle was unable to maintain its lane of travel so the officer called police and advised them of his findings. Shortly after this call, an on-duty officer located the vehicle and the operator on Williston Road. Contact was made with the operator, Megan Gumlaw, 19, of St. Albans, VT and she was found to be under the influence of intoxicants. Gumlaw provided a roadside breath sample indicating her blood alcohol content was .177 and she was subsequently taken into custody for suspicion of DUI. Gumlaw was processed for DUI and released on a citation to appear in court on 4/26/18 at 8:30 AM.
