INCIDENT TYPE: Negligent Operation
BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On April 4, 2018 at approximately 0913 hours an Officer from the South Burlington Police Department was conducting motor vehicle enforcement on Kennedy Drive after receiving complaints from residents of vehicles speeding through the area. The Officer observed a vehicle that appeared to be traveling in
extreme excess of the posted 40mph speed limit, with a speed of 82mph confirmed with handheld radar.
A traffic stop was conducted and the operator was identified as Scott Brooks, 22 of South Burlington. Brooks was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the South Burlington Police Department for processing. Brooks was released on a citation to appear in court on April 24, 2018 at
0830 hours to answer to the charge of Negligent Operation.
