BRIEF NARRATIVE:
On April 23, 2018 at about 7:55 a.m. a South Burlington Police Officer was traveling south on Spear Street when he saw a dark colored Jeep Cherokee speeding and passing other cars without due regard for public
safety. The vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of travel to pass vehicles. The officer immediately activated his blue lights and turned around to stop the Jeep. The officer was unable to catch up to the vehicle but was able to see it passing other vehicles in the area of the University of Vermont near the Gutterson Field House. The officer was able to see the vehicle on East Avenue in Burlington and saw it turn into the entrance of the University of Vermont Medical Center. The vehicle pulled into the drop off and pick up area of the front entrance of UVM Medical Center. The officer saw a female exit the Jeep and run into the lobby of UVMMC. UVMMC Security Staff assisted in locating the owner of the Jeep, identified as Brittany Borja, age 30, of Shelburne. Ms. Borja was transported to the South Burlington Police Department and issued a citation to appear at Chittenden Superior Court Criminal Division on May 15th 2018 at 8:30 a.m.
