Callers also reported one of the vehicles had rolled over and was on fire. Upon arrival, officers located one vehicle on its side against a telephone pole on the corner of Shunpike Road and Williston Road. The pole was broken in half. Police on scene located the vehicle smoking and attempted to extinguish any fire that may have been present. Williston Road was closed from Gregory Drive to Kennedy Drive in both directions and Shunpike Road was closed entirely while police and South Burlington Fire Department personnel investigated and provided medical care for minor injuries to involved parties. Preliminary investigation suggests that a vehicle entering the roadway from a business driveway and a vehicle in transit on Williston Road collided, however investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. The South Burlington Police Department thanks the public for their patience during the crash investigation and reminds all to be cautious when entering the roadway. Williston Road and Shunpike Road are now open to traffic, however utility crews remain on scene with flaggers while repairs to the utility pole are being completed.
