BRIEF NARRATIVE: On Saturday, April 14, 2018 at approximately 6:28 PM, South Burlington Police conducted a traffic stop of a Nissan Rogue due to the male operator using his cell phone while driving. Upon approach of the vehicle, South Burlington Police identified the operator by his Vermont photo license as Jerry Barich (22-year-old male of Essex, VT). A query of the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicle’s database showed Barich’s privilege to operate a motor vehicle to be under criminal suspension at the time of the traffic stop. Barich was taken into custody and transported to the South Burlington Police Department for processing. Barich was issued a citation to appear in the Chittenden Superior Court Criminal Division on Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at 8:30 AM to answer to the charge of operating after suspension or revocation.
